Wild Boar Crossbow Hunting Report: February 5, 2000
Father and son wild boar crossbow hunters Bob Mathias and son Ben (Winchester, OH - ph: 937-386-2389 - e-mail: popo-71-24@yahoo.com) each killed a wild boar with a crossbow during a morning wild boar hunting on February 5, 2000This father and son team bagged a fine pair of wild boar hogs in the sugar cane fields of south Florida's Glades county.
The wild boar (background) in this picture can be seen fighting with the dogs. This large boar after a fierce fight in the dense brush came out at us and had 5 men (2 hunters, 2 guides and me) running for cover. Crossbow hunter Bob Mathias (foreground) after some fast foot work running away from the boar is now running after it to get a shot at it with his crossbow.
Here's a good picture of wild boar hunting guides Scott and Dickie and the wild boar which the dogs have bayed up on the edge of a sugar cane field. Guide Dickie (right) can be seen motioning the hunter (Bob Mathias) in to take the good shot offered by the boar with his crossbow.
