Shellcracker Fishing
Lake Okeechobee Report
June 18 & 19, 2001

Shellcracker fishing anglers (left) Tom Chamberlin (Franklin, OH - ph: 513-743-1037) and (right) Paul Patton (Franklin, OH) caught their legal 2 day limit of 200 shellcrackers and bluegill during 2 half days (June 18 & 19, 2001) of shellcracker and bluegillfishing with Cap'n Ron. I fished Lake Okeechobee's Sportsman Canal during our afternoon session of shellcracker fishing and the Point Of The Reef areas out on Lake Okeechobee during our morning session of shellcracker fishing. We used live crickets on ultra-light rod and reel fishing gear.

Hello Capt. Ron. Remember us, Paul Patton and Tom Chamberlain. You took us out on the lake on Monday, June 18th and and Tuesday June 19th. We were fishing for bluegill and shellcrakers. We were using wax worms that you thought looked like giant maggots. People thought we were crazy for fishing out in the water with alligators. Anyway, we ended up catching 78 the first day and the second day we caught 150. You took pictures of some of the fish we caught, and you said that we should email you and that you would send the pictures to us via email.
