Bluegill Fishing Lake Okeechobee Report: June 18 & 19, 2001 Bluegill fishing anglers (left) Tom Chamberlin (Franklin, OH - ph: 513-743-1037) and (right) Paul Patton (Franklin, OH) caught their legal 2 day limit of 200 bluegill and shellcrackers during 2 half days (June 18 & 19, 2001) of bluegill and shellcracker fishing with Cap'n Ron. I fished Lake Okeechobee's Sportsman Canal during our afternoon session of bluegill fishing and the Point Of The Reef areas out on Lake Okeechobee during our morning session of bluegill fishing. We used live crickets and beetle-spins lures on ultra-light rod and reel fishing gear.
Here's a e-mail testimonial I received from the above party:
Hello Capt. Ron. Remember us, Paul Patton and Tom Chamberlain. You took us out on the lake on Monday, June 18th and and Tuesday June 19th. We were fishing for bluegill and shellcrakers. We were using wax worms that you thought looked like giant maggots. People thought we were crazy for fishing out in the water with alligators. Anyway, we ended up catching 78 the first day and the second day we caught 150. You took pictures of some of the fish we caught, and you said that we should email you and that you would send the pictures to us via email. Well, the best place to email the pictures is to my wife's email at work. They have the equipment to process them there. It is ppatton@gillc.com. Hope to hear from you soon, LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR!!!!! I know that you can't guarantee that we will catch fish again, but we know you can guarantee a boat ride! HA HA
Thank you. Paul Patton and Tom Chamberlain.Click here to view shellcracker photos Check out our Bluegill Fishing Special Rate listed below.
